Postgraduate training courses for eye nurses and doctors

The Pacific is drastically short of eye care professionals. To address this shortage, the Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand runs postgraduate training courses for eye nurses and eye doctors in Suva, Fiji, Madang, Papua New Guinea and Dili, Timor-Leste. This training is delivered through local universities and institutions.
We are looking for eye nurses to train and supervise nurses on the courses in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste in 2009. Suitable applicants will enjoy working in a team with experienced ophthalmologists and will ideally have experience of teaching small groups and working in low resource countries. Positions available are for periods of 6 weeks to 9 months. We offer adequate financial compensation, with travel, insurance, and accommodation costs covered.
